To me, Battlelore's stand out point is the dreamy female vocals. However, the rest of the band, including the harsh vocals that gives the music a sharper edge all do a professional job as well, combining with the interesting blend of folk ambiences, Evernight is widely considered as Battlelore's more accomplished works (till 2008 anyway as The Last Alliance is even better).

Despite Forsaken being a Doom Metal, their music is somehow also upbeat in a way, though they still have the usual downbeat moments and this makes them rather unique. Personally, I feel the song writing, performance (as in vocals, solos, riffs etc) and originality of the album should receive top scores and is my favourite Doom metal album.
